Mike Harvey is coming back! Make plans for the Mike Harvey Supergold Sock Hop on May 22 as part of Shrinersfest .

 

This summer is the 20^th anniversary of the first Mike Harvey Supergold Sock Hop in 1990. His show was attended by over 18,000 people that night, making it one of the Freedom Festival’s biggest events.

 

That first Sock Hop was broadcast nationwide on the 300 radio stations that carried Supergold. Since Petersburg has just been devastated by a tornado a few weeks earlier, Mike turned the microphone over to a representative of the community to make a coast to coast pitch for donations to help the town get back on its feet.

 

In the years that followed, Mike came back to Evansville annually and we’re the only market to ever host two sock hops in the same year when Mike came back for the Fall Festival and, in 1995, he did a Sock Hop at Roberts Stadium.
